Marijuana and CBD
Your influence counts.
Kids notice more than you realize—your choices and attitudes shape how they see marijuana and CBD. Talk openly with them, make your expectations known, and stay connected. When parents take the lead, we can reduce the chances of youth trying these substances.
Marijuana/CBD Law
Tennessee’s new hemp law (House Bill 1376 / Public Chapter 526) shifts oversight of hemp-derived cannabinoid products (like CBD) to the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission, sets stricter licensing, testing, and labeling rules, bans certain high-THC or synthetic products, and restricts sales to licensed in-person retailers for adults 21 and older.

It’s legal to buy CBD or hemp products online and have them shipped in Tennessee. ✅ Fact: The new law restricts sales to licensed in-person retailers; online sales and delivery are not permitted.
You can grow hemp or marijuana at home freely. ✅ Fact: Only licensed farmers can grow hemp under state regulations; recreational or unlicensed cultivation is illegal.
All hemp-derived cannabinoids are non-intoxicating. ✅ Fact: Some cannabinoids (like THCa or THCp) can convert to intoxicating THC when used, and these are banned under the new law.
Marijuana laws are the same everywhere. ✅ Fact: Marijuana laws vary widely by state. While some states allow recreational or medical marijuana, Tennessee still considers cannabis illegal, and possession can result in criminal penalties.
